Brain Injuries
Brain injuries are defined as a blow or jolt to the
head or a penetrating head injury that disrupts the function of the brain. Not all blows or jolts
to the head result in traumatic brain injuries. The severity of such brain injuries may range from
"mild," i.e., a brief change in mental status or consciousness to "severe," i.e., an extended
period of unconsciousness or amnesia after the injury. A TBI (Traumatic Brain Injury) can result in
short or long-term problems with independent function.

If you
suspect you or a loved one
has suffered a traumatic brain injury:
Get medical attention from a doctor (i.e. neurologist
or neurosurgeon) who specializes in brain injuries. As with most other injuries, if you have
been injured, you require medical treatment, but unlike many other traumas, in the case of
brain damage, the longer the delay between the injury and the rehabilitation, the more
difficult the problems are to treat with the risk that they might become
permanent.
You need a lawyer who
